Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the creation of design drawings and submittals (system drawings, bill of material, calculations, technical manuals, "as-built", etc.) for fire alarm systems and track for design approval.
  • Under general supervision; ability to exercise independent judgment to compare alternate courses of action and make a decision after considering the options; Understand customer needs in making day-to-day decisions and provide feedback or occasionally take action on changes in customer requirements.
  • Should have basic understanding of mechanical systems and their interface to fire alarm systems. Identify, define and develop solutions to issues that are not immediately evident in existing processes and systems.
  • Work as a team player to technically support our sales team, technicians, CAD drafters, and project managers through the delivery cycle.
  • Manages the development of project plans in advance of project activity assuring effective execution by the Project Team. Monitors progress to assure compliance with the pre-determined execution plan.
  • Prepares or oversees preparation of engineering re-estimate reports. Utilizes financial and monthly forecasting to manage and contain costs. Utilizes financial and monthly forecasting tools and works with other team members to monitor, manage and control costs. Prepares or oversees preparation of progress billings, pursues timely payments from the customer and authorizes payments to material suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Obtains bids and selects reliable subcontractors to provide wiring, device installation, special construction or other services.
  • Participates in job site final walk-thru and manages the completion of all close-out documentation such as As-Built drawings and system operating instructions; transfers or excess materials; billings, collections and payments; and all project records.
  • Minimum (5-10) years’ experience in management of district operation activities in the Sprinkler, Electronics or Construction industry (please note only candidates with this background will be consider).
  • Knowledge of applicable local, state and federal codes required.
  • Proficient with MS Office as well as online systems.
